SMS Terms of Service

Effective date: May 2026  ·  Last updated: May 2026

1. Program Name

FloridaContractorCheck.com Lead Notification Program ("the Program"), operated by Contract Advantage LLC ("Contract Advantage," "we," "us," "our").

2. Program Purpose

The Program sends text messages to licensed Florida contractors who have explicitly opted in. Messages notify contractors when a homeowner submits a quote request matching the contractor's license type and service area, and provide information about that lead and how to claim it. The Program also delivers profile verification messages, payment confirmations after lead claims, and brief follow-up survey messages to homeowners after a contractor has been matched.

3. How to Opt In

You can opt in to the Program by:

  • Checking the SMS consent box on the contractor profile claim form when you claim your profile
  • Checking the SMS consent box on the premium membership upgrade form
  • Submitting a quote request as a homeowner (which authorizes follow-up SMS related to your project)
  • Replying START to our SMS number after a previous opt-out

You must provide a valid mobile phone number that you own or are authorized to use. By opting in, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

Consent to receive SMS is not required to claim or maintain a contractor profile, or to use any free feature of FloridaContractorCheck.com.

4. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on lead volume in your service area. In high-volume markets contractors may receive multiple messages per week. In lower-volume markets messages may be occasional. Homeowners typically receive only one or two messages per quote request. We do not guarantee any specific message frequency.

5. Sample Messages

You can expect to receive messages similar to these:

6. Costs

There is no fee from FloridaContractorCheck.com to receive SMS messages from the Program. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Check with your carrier for details about your plan.

Some messages may include a link to claim a lead, which requires a separate per-lead payment processed through Stripe. The cost of claiming a lead is disclosed in the message before you take any payment action.

7. How to Opt Out

You can opt out of the Program at any time by replying with any of the following keywords to any SMS message we send:

  • STOP
  • STOPALL
  • UNSUBSCRIBE
  • CANCEL
  • END
  • QUIT

You will receive one final confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out, after which you will not receive further messages from the Program.

To re-subscribe after opting out, reply START or UNSTOP to our SMS number, or check the SMS consent box again on any opt-in form on FloridaContractorCheck.com.

8. How to Get Help

Reply HELP or INFO to any message to receive a brief help reply with support contact information. For non-urgent support, email us at info@floridacontractorcheck.com.

9. Communication Metadata and Routing

Communications between contractors and homeowners on FloridaContractorCheck.com may be routed through proxy phone numbers managed by the platform. We collect metadata about these communications — including timestamps, call duration, and connection status — but we do not record or store the content of voice calls. SMS message metadata (timestamp, message length, delivery status) is logged but message content is not retained beyond what is required for delivery and inbound keyword processing.

This metadata is used to:

  1. Measure response time and service quality
  2. Resolve disputes between contractors and homeowners
  3. Calculate contractor performance scores

For full details on data handling, see our Privacy Policy.

10. Carrier Liability Disclaimer

Wireless carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to carrier-side filtering, network availability, and other factors outside our control.

11. Eligibility and Supported Carriers

The Program is available only to contractors and homeowners with US-based mobile numbers on participating carriers. The Program is not available outside the United States.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers via SMS or email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued participation in the Program after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
