1. Source of License Data

All contractor license information displayed on FloridaContractorCheck.com is sourced from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) public records database. This is the same database maintained by the State of Florida and accessible to anyone at myfloridalicense.com.

We display this data to make it more accessible and searchable for Florida homeowners and businesses. We do not create, modify, or certify the underlying license records. This data is public record under Florida Statutes Chapter 119 (Public Records Law).

2. Data Freshness

We sync our contractor license database with the Florida DBPR extract daily. Building permit data is indexed from county and city portals across Florida on an ongoing basis. Despite this cadence, the information displayed on FloridaContractorCheck.com may not reflect the most recent changes to a contractor's license status, including:

• License renewals or expirations
• Suspensions or revocations
• Disciplinary actions or complaints
• Changes to license type, scope, or conditions
• Address or contact information updates

While most license changes appear within 24 hours and permit data refreshes weekly per jurisdiction, there can still be a lag between a change in official records and when it appears on our Platform. Do not rely solely on our data for critical decisions.

3. Always Verify at the Source

Before hiring any contractor, we strongly recommend verifying their license status directly with the Florida DBPR:

You can verify licenses by name, license number, business name, or city. The DBPR site also shows complaint history and disciplinary actions, which we do not currently display.

4. No Government Affiliation

FloridaContractorCheck.com is a privately operated website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the State of Florida, or any other government agency. We are not an official source of license data. The DBPR is the authoritative source for Florida contractor licensing information.

5. What "Licensed Contractor" Means on Our Platform

When a contractor is labeled as "Licensed" or shown with an active license on FloridaContractorCheck.com, it means the official DBPR records we synced — typically within the last 24 hours — showed an active license at that time. For the overwhelming majority of contractors, this status is accurate and current.

That said, a valid license is one part of vetting a contractor, not the whole picture. An active license status on our Platform does not by itself mean:

• The contractor is qualified, competent, or recommended by us
• The contractor is insured or bonded
• The contractor has no complaints or disciplinary history
• We have independently verified any information the contractor has provided

Because a license status can technically change at any moment, we always link to the official DBPR record so you can confirm real-time status before signing a contract.

6. Reviews & Ratings

Reviews and ratings displayed on FloridaContractorCheck.com are submitted by users and represent their personal opinions and experiences. We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any review.

7. Featured & Sponsored Listings

Some contractors appear in "Featured," "Sponsored," or premium positions in search results. These placements are paid advertisements. A contractor's featured position on this Platform reflects their advertising purchase — not our editorial judgment, quality assessment, or recommendation. Featured contractors should be evaluated with the same diligence as any other contractor.

The data and information provided on FloridaContractorCheck.com is provided "as is" without any warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We make no representations about the current validity of any license data displayed.
