Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

If you own a property in Florida, contractors who subscribe to our service may be able to see the phone numbers and email addresses we hold for you. Use this form to tell us to stop. It takes about a minute. You can also email [email protected].

Use your name as it appears on the property records, and the address of the property. We email you a link to confirm the request is yours.

Only used if we need to reach you about this request.

Privacy for Property Owners and Other People in Our Data

Contract Advantage LLC runs FloridaContractorCheck.com and FloridaContractorIntel (floridacontractorintel.com), a paid service for licensed contractors. This part explains what we hold about people who are not our users, such as homeowners and property owners, and the choices they have.

What we hold

  • Public records: building permits from county and city permit offices (the property address, the work, its value, dates, and the contractor), property records from county property appraisers (owner name, mailing address, sale date and price, building details), and business filings from the Florida Division of Corporations.
  • Contact details from a data vendor: when a subscribing contractor asks, we look up the owner's phone numbers, email addresses, and Do Not Call markers from BatchData and keep the result.

How it is shared

Subscribing contractors see the public record details and can pay to reveal the phone numbers and email addresses so they can offer their services. Because contractors pay us for that access, some state privacy laws treat it as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Contractors agree to use it only for their own business, to follow calling and texting laws, and not to resell it.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You can tell us to stop. Use the form on this page. Once you confirm the request, we:

  • stop showing and selling the phone numbers and email addresses we hold for you to contractors,
  • stop looking them up from our vendor, and
  • if you ask, also hide your name in contractor lists, so they show the property without it.

This takes effect within 30 days, and usually right away. We keep a record of your request (your name, the property address, your email, and the dates) so we can keep honoring it, and we use that record for nothing else.

What the request does not do:

  • It does not remove public permit and property records about the building.
  • It does not take back details a contractor received before your request. To stop a contractor who already has them, ask that contractor directly.
  • It is not the national Do Not Call list. To stop sales calls in general, register at donotcall.gov.

How we check a request

We email a link to the address you give us. The request takes effect when you open that link and press Confirm. We match it to the property by its address and to you by your name, so if the property is sold, the new owner is not affected. An authorized agent can ask for you by emailing [email protected] with proof that you asked them to.

Your other rights

You can also ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected]. We will confirm your identity first and respond within 30 days, or sooner if the law of your state requires. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
